Tennessee Family Reunion

If 4th of July in Louisville was hot as hell, there are no words to describe hot hot it was in Tennessee that weekend for Lonnie's Sr.'s family reunion.  Not exaggerating, the temperature was 103 degrees, with insane humidity, which us Kentucky folks know that means it feels like 120 degrees.

Even though it was so hot, we did something really cool.  A man, one of Lonnie's not too distant cousins did some amazing research on the family, and traced their roots back to the 1800s.  We were able to visit the plantation in Tennessee where their family ancestors came from back in slavery days. This man knew so much, and it was so cool to see the property, here about what it was like back then, and tour where Lonnie's family once lived.  I would like to have been able to listen and concentrate a little more on what the man was telling us, but as mentioned, it was a million degrees and I was watching Jude so Lonnie could here most of it.
Checking out the barn on the property.
Listening about our ancestors.
Back at the community park...playtime.

Momma D's boys.
 My man.
 A cute little cousin.
When in Rome...or as this case, when in the country.
I may have mandated Jude have his afternoon nap, largely so I could sit in the air conditioned car with him.
 Who knows....this kid.
